Book Review: I Was Here by Gayle Forman

Hello Readers,

There is a trigger warning for this book. It deals with depression and suicide.

I Was Here by Gayle Forman if about two best friends Cody and Meg. Meg goes off to college and Cody stays in their home town. One day Cody gets a email and Meg has committed suicide. Through this book Cody is trying to figure out why and what caused Meg to commit suicide. Along the way she finds great friends and a possible love interest. I give this book 4 out 5 bubbles. I really enjoyed this book and it is also the first Gayle Forman book I have read. She really focused on what all the characters are feeling and how that effects others around them. I really liked how character relationships grew throughout the book. From her relationship with her mom and her friends she meets in the book. I went in reading this book really not knowing much and I’m glad. I would overall recommend this book but it is very serious and sad.

Happy Reading,

Bubbles ❤
