Non- Spoiler Review:

I was sooooo excited to read this book because the movie trailer looks AMAZING. I was super disappointed. If you have been around for a while, you know I barely ever give a rating under 3 stars. I think the world and concept are great, but the world building is not there and they just throw random information at us and don’t explain further. I felt like there was a lot of information that we got that we didn’t really need and then there was information that was missing that we did need. My mom read it earlier this year and was also disappointed. She loved it as a little kid but reading it know she didn’t like it as much. She was a little more generous with her rating giving it 3 stars. I am definitely going to see the movie still, however, I will not be continuing with the book series.

I wanted to love this book so bad. I think the concept is amazing the pay off was just not there. At first, I was really confused if we were in a normal world or a fantasy one. This may have been because I was just so excited to get into the “Magical” aspect of the book, but I was still confused. I think what threw me off the most was Charles Wallace knowing what Meg was thinking and needed. I know it wasn’t the world that was magical at this point it was Charles Wallace himself. Also if Meg and Charles Wallace were sent on this quest why weren’t the twins? Also on a different note can we please talk about the romance in this book? Okay so if you know me I love a good love story but this one was just odd. I thought Clavin and Meg were cute at first holding hands and such, but then, in the end, they just randomly kissed. I felt like there wasn’t any relationship between them; They barely knew each other. I know it is a classic fairy tale, however, I wouldn’t recommend.
